In December 1999, I moved from Brooklyn where I was studying at Pratt Institute. I had recently attained a job in New Jersey, so the move was necessary. The 2 hour+ commute from Brooklyn, through the WTC and into Northern New Jersey was simply not practical.

I lucked out in finding the place that I rent now. It is in downtown Jersey City, on the fifth floor of a 9 story building and has a huge 20 ft. x 14 ft. window. From my window I can see all the way from the GWB bridge to the Statue of Liberty. The red star in the upper left corner of the picture is where I live. The purple area to the right of it is the Newport Mall, seen in the bottom section of the lightning picture. The other red star is where the World Trade Center stood.
